A Smashing Time at the Annual Clayshoot.

Wednesday August saw the ATB Sports Solutions Annual Clay Shooting Competition 2010.

The weather was good but overcast and a breeze made some birds challenging.

Entrance was necessarily by invitation only and saw a mixture of guns from experienced to infrequent to first timers, all associated with AT Bone and ATB Sports Solution business base.

After a tour of the Crossoaks facility and the mandatory safety talk, competitors were off with a box of cartridges to "get their eye in".

Coaching was offered at the practice session and was clearly effective as even first timers dusted their fair share of clays. The peace and tranquillity in this part of the Hertfordshire countryside was shattered by the sound of shotguns as skills were honed to competitive sharpness in readiness for the competition.

Performances improved considerably at the competition stage with all guns putting in a worthy performance and whetting appetites for the traditional Bar B Que, where everyone had a story to tell.

Prizes were awarded for "Top Gun" and for "Honest Endeavour" although in truth everybody won.
