Reach Free School
Willmott Dixon invited ATB to tender for sports field packages at the new build reach free school in 2017. As part of the sports field scope of works ATB undertook major soil cultivation and topsoil stripping. This was to enable a balanced cut and fill of the site to obtain pitch levels conforming with Sport England standards. The indigenous top soil was historically agricultural and contained a large volume of stones. As part of the works ATB undertook on site screening of approximately 10,000m3 of topsoil for re-use on the sports field and land scaping areas.
ATB replaced top soil to 22,000m2 of natural turf sports pitches before undertaking further in-situ stone picking, laser grading and seeding. ATB also installed a comprehensive primary and secondary drainage system with a large scale attenuation due to the poor permeability of the sub-soil. ATB worked closely with the design consultants TGMS to design and deliver all aspects of the project.
